Ok you guyz had to wait for a long time for this thing so here it comes:
Keeping a PC at its top notch is not that difficult if you do the following steps:
1. Regular Disk Defragmenting = Many of the people think this process is stupid but it isn't, what defragmenting actually does it spreads the files on a specific partition in the empty space which is available on that partition. If this is too hard to understand look at the simple Digram below.
1. Before defragmenting = -----------------
2. After defragmenting = - - - - - - - - - - -
I hope you understand frm the diagram above :p
Tip: To defragment a drive Right click on the drive then go to properties>tools and click on Defragment now button then select the drive you want to defragment and click analyze. after analyzation you will receive a message stating whether you should defragment or not defragment the drive. (Mehtod for Windows XP)
2. Windows Registry = Your PC may act slow due to some invalid changes made indirectly to the Windows Registry the indirect changes to the windows registry may occur due to the following:
* Adding/Removing of Programs (frequently)
* Changes made by a specific software (Like updating OS)
* Entries left by a program after being uninstalled
* Virus/Spyware (Main causes of a PC running slow)
You can fix the Windows registry using programs like CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/). This software is a freeware, If you can afford there are many programs available for fixing corrupted Windows registries for e.g Registry Mechanic.
3. Regular Virus checks = Checking your system frequently for Viruses is must now a days (Full System Scan is recommended atleast once a month :)) and when you scan for viruses make sure you have the latest virus definations.
Tip: When you want to buy an AntiVirus software make sure that it has received VB100% award.
4. Removing unwanted programs = If you are not using a program then don't keep it on your PC as it consumes your HDD space and also you memory (background processes)
5. Clean dust on your PC = Cleaning dust from your Moniter, Keyboard won't help you have to clean your PC internally. To do this Open to side of your Cabinet then clean your Processor's Heatsink, Memory modules, GPU etc. Make sure you use a soft cloth to do this and don't use any harsh brushes and keep the components away from water.
Thats it now you PC should do magic :)
